The Fédération Togolaise de Football is the Togolese football association based in Lomé . It was founded in 1954 and joined FIFA in 1962 .

Togo participated for the first time in 2006 at the World Cup in Germany in part. Due to a dispute about participation bonuses between the players of the national team and the association, coach Otto Pfister resigned from the training camp, but returned on June 9, 2006 before his team's first game. In January 2007 Tata Avlessi became president of the association, he succeeded the criticized rock Balakiyem Gnassingbé . Against Avlessi through was Court of Arbitration for Sport in September 2007 following the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup pronounced because of accusations of referee bribery a lifetime ban as a football official. Since proof of his guilt could not be provided, this ban was lifted in March 2008 and Avlessi took up his post again.
