The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), formerly the Nigeria Football Association, is the governing body of football in Nigeria (seat: Abuja ).

Revised resolution

On June 30, 2010, Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan withdrew the Nigerian national soccer team for two years from all international tournaments due to the preliminary rounds at the soccer World Cup 2010 and dissolved the NFF so that a new national team could be built in peace. However, this contradicts the statutes of the world association FIFA , which prohibit state interference in the affairs of national associations. Therefore, a few days later, FIFA spokesman Nicolas Maingot gave the President an ultimatum until July 5, 2010 to withdraw the decision. If this does not happen, Nigeria would be suspended from the world federation. Shortly before the end of the ultimatum on July 5th, the Nigerian President lifted his suspension for the national teams and the dissolution of the association.
