The Botswana Football Association (BFA) is the governing body of football clubs in Botswana .

The association was founded in 1966 under the name “Botswana National Football Association (BNFA)” and has been a member of FIFA and the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) since 1978 .

The association organizes football in Botswana and maintains, among other things, the national football teams and the football leagues.

The BFA provides 15 referees and assistants recognized by FIFA and CAF, four referee instructors and three coach instructors.

Administrative structure

The 16 regional football associations and their representatives play an important role in all administrative areas.

The association is led by the general assembly. This includes all 16 members of the National Football Council, 4 representatives from the regional football associations and 11 other people, for example from the women's football committee and the leagues. The National Football Council is the second highest authority at the BFA, followed by the eight-member Executive Committee.
