Konami Kanata

Konami Kanata ( Japanese こ な み か な た , Kanata Konami ; born July 3, 1958 in Nagano Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese manga artist . The central theme of her works is the everyday life of domestic cats.

She attended Futaba High School in Suwa, Nagano Prefecture. She published her first manga as a professional illustrator in 1982 with the short story Puchi neko jamu jamu in the manga magazine Nakayoshi , which is aimed at girls. Nakayoshi magazine is published by Kodansha Publishing, for whom she has worked since her debut. In 1986 she began one of her most famous works, Fuku Fuku Funya ~ n or Fuku Fuku Nya ~ n . The comic first appeared in Me magazine and moved to Be Love in 1994 , which, along with You, is one of the manga magazines with the highest circulation for women ( Josei ). Fuku Fuku Funya ~ n only ended in 2004 after over 2100 pages. Another success was Hagu hagu , which she released between 1992 and 2001 together with Hogara Numata .

Kanata is currently working on Little Cat Chi ( Chi's Sweet Home ), which is about a little cat that gets lost and can no longer find its way back to its mother and siblings, but is instead taken in by a human family. Chi's Sweet Home , which is completely in color, is unusual for manga and has been published in Morning since 2004. It is aimed at adult men and works for the renowned Seinen manga artists such as Kaiji Kawaguchi and Takehiko Inoue .
