The Mauritanian national football team is the first football selection of the African state of Mauritania . The Mauritanian Football Association, the Fédération de Football de la République Islamique de Mauritanie (FFRIM), is a member of FIFA and the CAF . It is only since the 1990s that Mauritania has regularly participated in qualifications for the World and African Championships .

The team has not yet qualified for a world championship. In 2019 , the team took part in the final round of the African Championship for the first time.
