Abdoul Ba (born February 8, 1994 in Dakar ) is a Mauritanian - French football player .

Career

society

Football started playing Ba in Sarcelles near the French capital Paris. At the age of 14 he was noticed by a scout from the RC Lens professional club , received an invitation to a trial training session and was then signed on. He was trained in the club's junior performance center and, in addition to his traditional position in central defense, also played as a left-back. With a height of two meters, the unusually tall footballer also developed a special physical strength. He was just 18 years old when he played for the first time in the fourth-class reserve team of Lens in spring 2012. In addition, he often took part in the training operations of the professional team playing in the second division, although he was initially not allowed to play for this.

At the end of the 2013/14 season, Lens made it to the top French league and shortly afterwards announced that Ba would receive a contract for the now top-class professional team for the following season. On October 17, 2014, he was initially on the bench in an encounter against Paris Saint-Germain and experienced a turbulent game with two red cards for Lens and one for the capital city. As a result, he came on in the 63rd minute for Yoann Touzghar to consolidate the defensive division after Jean-Philippe Gbamin was sent off ; his first division debut ended with a 1: 3 defeat. A week later he was in the starting line-up for the first time in a 2-0 victory over FC Toulouse . A few more considerations followed, with his team being relegated directly in 2015.

National team

Ba was 19 years old and was still on the reserve team at Lens when he made his debut for the Mauritanian national team on September 8, 2013 . This happened as part of a friendly against Canada, which ended in a 0-0 draw. Further appointments followed on a regular basis. He played his first competitive game in the national jersey on May 17, 2014 in a 1-0 win over Equatorial Guinea as part of the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualification . This was followed by participation in various other qualifying games.
