The Liberian national soccer team , also known as the Lone Stars , is the soccer selection of the African state of Liberia and is organized by the Liberia Football Association. Although the FIFA World Player of the Year 1995, George Weah , hails from Liberia, the national team has not yet seen any major successes. So far, the Liberians have never qualified for a world championship. Liberia ended two participations in the African Cup of Nations after the preliminary round.
