The Gabonese national football team , which represents the African state of Gabon in football, is subordinate to the Fédération Gabonaise de Football .
The team has not yet managed to qualify for a soccer world championship . The team was able to qualify for the Africa Cup . The quarter-finals were reached twice, each time losing on penalties.
Most of the national players active in Europe play in the first and second French leagues .
