UNIFFAC Cup 1999

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The UNIFFAC Cup 1999 was the first and so far the only play-off of the official Central African championship in football and took place from November 7th to 14th in Gabon . Organized by the Central African Football Association UNIFFAC , six of the eight members took part. The original plan was to play the participants in the semi-finals in two groups of four teams. But after Cameroon and the DR Congo had canceled their participation shortly before the start of the tournament, it was decided to let the six remaining teams play the tournament winner in a league round, everyone against everyone. All games were played at the Stade Omar Bongo in Libreville .

The tournament should not be confused with the CEMAC Cup, which has been held since 2003 for the six countries of the CEMAC , to which the DR Congo and São Tomé and Príncipe do not belong.
