The third edition of the CECAFA Cup , officially the 1975 Palmares CECAFA Championship , took place in Zambia from October 31 to November 9, 1975 . Six East and Central African teams played here for the title of East and Central African champions. Kenya won its first title. Sudan and Somalia may also have participated in the tournament. The CECAFA Cup is considered the successor to the East and Central African Senior Challenge Cup .

Game mode

The 6 participating countries played in two groups with three teams each. The group runner-up played against the group leader of the other group in the semi-finals. The two semi-final winners played for the title in the final.
