Tania Tsanaklidou

Tania Tsanaklidou ( Greek Τάνια Τσανακλίδου , born April 9, 1952 in Drama ) is a Greek singer and actress . She grew up in Thessaloniki , where she performed at the Marie Soidou Children's Theater at the age of eight . She later studied acting and archeology in Saloniki.

At the age of 21 she moved to Athens where she appeared in a play for children, Mormolis by Xenia Kalogeropoulou. At night she sang in a club with the composer and musician Giannis Markopoulos . In 1978 she represented Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest and reached eighth place with her song Charlie Chaplin .
She played in several theater and television productions and made many records, including with Michalis Delta . Together the two brought out the album To chroma tis meras (Το χρώμα της μέρας "The color of the day") in 2001 on Universal Records. The single Mia agapi mikri (Μια αγάπη μικρή), which was released in 2000, was also released again on the album .
In 2008 she played the role of the hetaera Chrysis in the ancient tragic-philosophical comedy Samia by Menander . Tsanaklidou had previously made a winter tour through Greece with her colleague Dimitra Galani , a singer who is also very well known in Greece. She also performs live with Vassilis Papakonstantinou.
