Elpida (singer)
Elpida (aka Elpida Karayiannopoulou , Greek : Ελπίδα Καραγιαννοπούλου, born October 1, 1950 in Sperchiada ) is a Greek singer .
Confronted with music at an early age, she came to Athens with her brothers . While she was studying topography there , she became a singer in an orchestra. In 1972 she made her debut as a solo singer at the Thessaloniki Music Festival with the song "Den Ton Eida" (Δεν τον είδα) which brought her a lot of attention. Over the next three years she took part in 13 international song competitions, and in 1975 she reached number 1 at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival in Viña del Mar , Chile .
She was selected to represent Greece at the 1979 Eurovision Song Contest in Jerusalem . Her title Sokrati made it to 8th place. At the Eurovision Song Contest 1986 she took part again, this time for Cyprus . With the pop song Tora Zo she was last. Your points came from:
