Michalis Rakintzis

Michalis Rakintzis ( Greek Μιχάλης Ρακιντζής ; born April 3, 1957 in Athens ) is a Greek pop singer and composer .

He studied mechanical engineering in England. In the 1980s he founded the pop group Scraptown , with whom he released three albums. After their dissolution, his first solo album was released in 1987 and he sang in Greek from then on. His records appeared regularly and he also composed for numerous other artists. As the winner of the preselection, he was allowed to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 for Greece. With the pop song SAGAPO and a robot-like performance, he reached number 17.

In February 2018, a new Rakintzis album, Insane, was released.
