Marinella (2006)

Marinella ( Greek Μαρινέλλα , born May 20, 1938 in Thessaloniki ; actually Kyriaki Papadopoulou ( Greek Κυριακή Παπαδοπούλου )) is a Greek singer .

Her debut Nitsa Elenitsa appeared in 1957. In the same year she met the rembetiko singer Stelios Kazantzidis , with whom she worked and whom she later married.

In 1974 Marinella represented Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest in Brighton . When her home country participated in this competition for the first time, she achieved eleventh place with the title Ligo krasi, ligo thalassa kai to agori mou (A little wine, a little sea and my boy / friend) .

Marinella then appeared in various musical productions as a singer and actress.
