Marianna Zorba

Marianna Zorba ( Greek Μαριάννα Ζορμπά , * 1967 in Athens ) is a Greek singer .

Zorba sang in Greek dance halls until she was discovered by the musician Manolis Manouselis as a singer for his composition Horepse . With this folkloric title Greece took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 in the Irish capital Dublin and finished 12th. Shortly afterwards, Zorba and Manouselis married.

The couple moved to the island of Crete in 2002 , where they founded the musical duo Notios Anemos . The couple has lived in Wuppertal since 2010 . Here Zorba teaches at a Greek school.
