Mariana Efstratiou

Mariana Efstratiou ( Greek Μαριάννα Ευστρατίου , * 1962 in Athens ) is a Greek singer .

She was first known in Greece as a background singer for Big Alice . Already in 1987 she was part of the Eurovision Song Contest : She accompanied the Greek group Bang as a background singer . Two years later she was selected herself: She represented her country at the Eurovision Song Contest 1989 in Lausanne with the hit To thiko sou asteri and reached 9th place. In 1996 she was selected again and was therefore allowed to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest 1996 in Oslo . With her folkloric pop song Emis forame to heimona anoixiatika she had to be content with 14th place.
