Marianna Toli

Marianna Toli ( Greek Μαριάννα Τόλη ; * 1952 ; † December 29, 2018 ) was a Greek singer , actress and theater director .

She studied art history in the United States and classical and modern dance in London , after which she attended the national drama school in Athens . She then worked as a musical actress and played in plays such as Evita and Chicago . Together with three other singers, she competed for Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1977 . The group reached fifth place with the pop song Mathema Solfege .

From the 1990s she became increasingly active as a director in the field of musicals and youth theater. She died in late December 2018 after suffering from cancer.
