Mando (singer)

Mando ( Greek Μαντώ ; originally: Adamantia Stamatopouloua, Greek: Αδαμαντία Σταματοπούλου; ) (born April 13, 1966 in Piraeus ) is a Greek pop singer .

The daughter of a jazz pianist and a soprano came into contact with music at an early age. She played in musicals and sang in all kinds of bands of different genres. At the age of 18 she was discovered by the record company CBS. Her first singles appeared in English, at the same time she spent several years in the United States where she completed a vocal training. In 1989 her debut album was released in Greek.

As the winner of the preselection she could with the pop song Never let you go at the Euro Vision Song Contest 2003 to take part in which she reached the 17th place.

In April 2013, she took part in the first season of the Greek version of the television show Your Face Sounds Familiar and took fourth place. Here she appeared as Barbra Streisand , Nana Mouskouri and Stevie Wonder, among others .

In 2017 Mando released Bare Bones, a new rock album in English.
