Demy (born August 21, 1991 in Athens , as Dimitra Papadea ( Greek Δήμητρα Παπαδέα )) is a Greek singer and musical actress .

Career

Demy became known in Greece in 2011 with her song Mia Zografia ( Greek Μια Ζωγραφιά ). In 2012 she received two MAD Video Music Awards . She also played several musical roles such as The Addams Family (musical) or Mamma Mia! (Musical) .

On January 13, 2017, she was selected by ERT to represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 . In order to select her song, a preliminary decision was held in which she sang three different English-language songs by the composer Dimitris Kontopoulos , who had also previously composed contributions for the Eurovision Song Contest , for example Russia's previous title You Are the Only One by Sergei Lasarew , such as also the songs for Fərid Məmmədov , Sakis Rouvas or Ani Lorak . The audience decided on the dance title This Is Love . In the final she reached 19th place.
