Hovig (actually Greek Χόβιγκ Ντεμιρτζιάν , Choving Demirtzian , Armenian Հովիկ Դեմիրճյան , Howik Demirtschjan ; born January 3, 1989 in Nicosia ) is a Cypriot - Armenian singer . He represented Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kiev .

Life

Hovig, who is also an Armenian citizen in addition to Cypriot citizenship, has already wanted to compete in the ESC twice. For the ESC 2010 he reached third place in the preliminary round with the song Goodbye and in 2015 he came fourth in the preliminary round with the song Stone in a River .

On October 21, 2016, he was presented as the first candidate from all participating countries. His song Gravity was written by the Swedish composer Thomas G: son like the contribution from 2016 ( Alter Ego by Minus One ) . The title came in 21st in the final of the competition.
