The Czechoslovak U-21 national soccer team was a selection team of Czechoslovak soccer players . She was subordinate to the Českomoravský fotbalový svaz (ČMFS) and represented him at the U-21 level , in friendly matches against the national teams of other national associations, but also at the European Championship of the continental association UEFA . Eligible to play were players who had not yet reached the age of 21 and who had Czechoslovak citizenship . In tournaments, the age at the first qualifying game is decisive.

history

Czechoslovakia won the first U-23 European Championship with the U-23 national team. Then they were eliminated in the quarter-finals or did not even qualify. After the reorientation of the UEFA youth football competitions in 1976, Czechoslovakia decided to found its own U-21 national team. Until the team was disbanded in 1994, Czechoslovakia was able to qualify for eight of the eleven U21 European championships played. However, they were eliminated in the quarterfinals. Only in the years 1982 to 1986 did they fail to qualify three times in a row.

After the dissolution of Czechoslovakia , the two successors, the Czech national football team (U-21 men) and the Slovak national football team (U-21 men), emerged .
