Karl Shuker

Karl PN Shuker (* 1959 ) is a British zoologist .

Live and act

He studied zoology at the University of Leeds and zoology plus physiology at the University of Birmingham . He is a member of the Zoological Society of London , the Royal Entomological Society of London and the British Writers' Association. Shuker has published thirteen books; he is also a consultant for the Guinness Book of Records .

In his writings and research, Shuker was the first cryptozoologist to write about cryptids that were previously little known, such as the Gambian sea monster Gambo , the Waheela from the Canadian Arctic, the Mongolian "death worm" Allghoi Khorkhoi and many others, including scientifically described Animals like the squid genus bigfin squid was caught by the no adult specimen. He is also the zoological advisor for the Guinness World Records. A type of corset animal (Loricifera), Pliciloricus shukeri , was named after him in 2005.

Shuker works as a full-time freelance writer and consultant and makes frequent appearances on radio and television.
