zoologist
A zoologist does zoology as a science .
The scientific work can be carried out in the field, in the laboratory, in the museum, in the zoo or in combinations thereof. Most zoologists today have studied biology as a subject. But also veterinarians , forest scientists and geographers sometimes work as zoologists. Before biology or zoology and botany were established as separate branches of science, many zoologists and biologists studied medicine.
