Friedrich Ris
Friedrich Ris (* 1867 in Glarus ; † January 30, 1931 in Rheinau ) was director of the " Rheinau insane asylum " and an important Swiss dragonfly researcher .
His father of the same name, Friedrich Ris, was a merchant from Fluntern . His mother was Maria Schmid. He attended high school in Zurich. He then studied from the winter semester of 1885 at the University of Zurich and graduated on May 3, 1890. His doctorate as Dr. med. followed on June 24, 1890. The subject of the dissertation was: Clinical contribution to renal surgery ... (VZU 725). He then initially worked as a psychiatrist and entomologist in Mendrisio and between 1898 and 1931 was director of the " Rheinau insane asylum ". Since 1930 he was an honorary member of theSchaffhausen Natural Research Society . Its author's abbreviation is R is.
