Schaffhausen Natural Research Society
The Naturforschende Gesellschaft Schaffhausen ( NGSH ) is an association in the city of Schaffhausen that was founded in 1822. She is a member of the Swiss Academy of Sciences .
The purpose of the association is to promote interest in the natural sciences ; the goals of nature conservation are included. The natural research society offers lectures and tours (in the winter half-year) and excursions (in the summer) in its program. The association maintains the Schaffhausen observatory and is actively involved in the natural history collections of the Allerheiligen Museum . The membership of the association is traditionally international. In addition to ambitious lay people and local researchers, academics, engineers, doctors, well-known scientists and other personalities belong to the association.
Publications
In the New Year's Gazette of the Schaffhausen Natural Research Society and in the NGSH's communications , scientific papers appear that primarily deal with the home region.
