New year's paper of the Schaffhausen Natural Research Society

The New Year's Gazette of the Schaffhausen Natural Research Society has been published annually since 1949 and reports on a natural history topic. We prefer to publish works on topics from the Schaffhausen region. A research-based claim is not made, but the contributions meet general scientific requirements. The scope is sometimes significantly larger than that of dissertations , but is aimed at a middle-class, educated audience. The publisher is the Naturforschende Gesellschaft Schaffhausen . The association was founded in 1822. The predecessor magazine was the communications of the Schaffhausen Natural Research Society .

1973 to 2012 the publisher P. Meili is named; before that various publishers, also self-published.

As the publisher, the association has around 500 members and seeks to promote interest in the natural sciences. It is based in Schaffhausen.
