Blows in the name of the lord. The suppressed history of children in care in Germany is a book documentation published in 2006 by Peter Wensierski .

It deals with the extensive exploitation and mistreatment of children in church and state homes in West Germany between 1945 and 1970. a. the so-called " home campaign " ended.

The publication of the suppressed history of the children in care in the Federal Republic led to confessions by the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) and the Petitions Committee of the German Bundestag . The Petitions Committee recognizes and deeply regrets, according to the decision of November 26, 2008, "the injustice and suffering suffered by children and adolescents in various children's and reforming homes in the old Federal Republic between 1945 and 1970".

In Ireland in 2009, the Ryan Report and the Murphy Report officially confirmed widespread child abuse in church homes. These had previously become known to a wider public through the film The Merciless Sisters .

At the end of 2011, director Dror Zahavi filmed the book with Senta Berger and Matthias Habich, among others, with the title And all have been silent , which was broadcast on ZDF in March 2013 . This was followed by a thirty-minute documentary under the same title. The book was processed musically in the song “Heimkind” by Ost + Front .
