Olexander Wiktorowytsch Jazenko ( Ukrainian Олександр Вікторович Яценко , born February 24, 1985 in Kiev ) is a Ukrainian football player. The defender is under contract with FK Helios Kharkiv .

Career

Jazenko began his career as a professional footballer at Dynamo Kiev and attended their football school, but was loaned to FK Kharkiv for the 2005/06 season. He was already represented in several youth and junior selections in his home country. He led the Ukraine team as captain to the round of 16 of the junior soccer world championship in 2004 and became vice European champion in 2006 with the U21 team. In June 2006 he was appointed to replace the injured Serhiy Fedorov with just one international appearance (in October 2005 against Japan ) in the Ukraine squad for the 2006 World Cup . After Yazenko was loaned from Kiev to Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in the first half of 2007, he moved to Chornomorets Odessa in the summer of that year.
