The sports association Langendreer 04 is a sports club from Bochum , whose footballers are among the most important teams in the early stages of football in the Ruhr area . The first team plays in the district league A in the 2019/20 season . Other sports under the SV Langendreer 04 umbrella are swimming , athletics , volleyball , tennis and heart attack .
history
The club from the east of Bochum achieved its greatest successes in the " Golden Twenties " , when the first team played almost consistently first class and became one of the most important teams on Hellweg . With the introduction of the nationwide Gauligen in 1933, however, the heyday of SVL 04 ended, and it was only after the war that the club was able to celebrate some successes again at regional level. From 1957 the club established itself in the third-class association league for a few years , and the reigning German champions Borussia Dortmund as well as the upper division Prussia Münster were eliminated in the cup .
The club's last major successes were promotions to the amateur league in Westphalia for the 1983/84 season and the 1998/99 season, each of which ended with the direct relegation of the Bochum suburbs . Today the sports association Langendreer 04 is represented in the district league after several relegations.
Stadion
The stadium at the Hessenteich is located on the city limits of Dortmund , in the immediate vicinity of the Langendreer house . In addition to an athletics track, it has a covered standing grandstand. The facility also includes an artificial turf pitch, the Pappelwiese lawn, 13 tennis courts, three of which are covered, several volleyball courts and a clubhouse. The stadium has a capacity of 7,000 spectators. It also hosted the game between Mexico and Australia at the 4th World Cup for people with disabilities in 2006. At that time, Mexico won 10-0.
