Lukas Hinterseer (born March 28, 1991 in Kitzbühel ) is an Austrian football player in the position of a striker and attacking midfielder . He is the grandson of Ernst Hinterseer , son of Guido Hinterseer and nephew of Hansi Hinterseer .

From 2009 he was under contract with FC Wacker Innsbruck , where he matured into a regular player in 2013. In the 2013/14 season he became a senior international. For the 2014/15 season he moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for FC Ingolstadt 04 and got into the club with the football league on. After the club was relegated from the Bundesliga and his contract with Ingolstadt expired, Hinterseer moved to VfL Bochum for the 2017/18 season . After two years he moved to the season 2019/20 for Hamburger SV .

Club career

Career start in Kitzbühel

The nephew of the famous all-rounder Hansi Hinterseer began his active career as a football player relatively late at the age of ten with his home club, FC Kitzbühel. There he completed all youth league classes and was about to be called up to the two men's teams of his club when he received an offer from FC Wacker Innsbruck . After the student of the BORG Innsbruck had spent several years in the Kitzbühel junior, he finally moved to the nearby state capital, where he was initially only accepted into the junior division of FC Wacker. There he spent a large part of the 2008/09 season and also came to regular appearances in the U-19 youth league sponsored by Toto , where he mostly could not really prevail and in his only eight championship appearances three yellow cards and one yellow - had to accept a red card . During this season he also made his debut for the club's second combat team, which at that time was still playing in the Tyrolean regional league . There the Kitzbüheler gained his first experience in men's football and was brought into the squad for the first time on August 9, 2008 with a 2-1 away win over Innsbruck AC . Back then, he made his men's debut on October 11, 2008 in a 0-0 draw against SV Längenfeld, when he was on the pitch with the number 11 from the start and in the 81st minute of play for more than three years older South Tyrolean Daniel Niederjaufner was replaced. In his third appearance in the second team, he scored a goal in a 9-0 victory against SC Kirchberg on March 21, 2009; in the further course of the game he was still substituted. In the further course of the season, further appearances followed for him, as well as a goal in a 2-1 win over SK Jenbach, where he was sent off prematurely shortly before the end of the game with the red card and another two goals in a 3-1 win over Längenfeld. In the end it was enough for Hinterseer, who played eleven league games during the season and scored four goals, and his team for the championship title in the fourth division. The team, which suffered only one defeat in the entire season, had already fixed promotion a few laps before the end.

Admission to the men's team at FC Wacker Innsbruck

Lukas Hinterseer only came to the state capital in 2008 through his hometown club.

At the beginning of the 2009/10 season, Hinterseer's youth career also ended when he signed his first professional contract with FC Wacker Innsbruck, where he played sporadically in the professional field, but also played successfully with the amateurs. After the promotion to the RL West, the trained striker advanced to a dangerous goal force in the attack lines of Innsbruck, where he scored seven hits in a total of 19 regional league appearances. At the same time, he made his debut in the first round match against Red Bull Salzburg Juniors on July 14, 2009 in the professional team, which at that time was still represented in the first division , the second highest level in Austrian football . In the game he was substituted on for his offensive partner Markus Unterrainer in the 71st minute . This was followed by a further seven league appearances for the Innsbruck team throughout the season, where he only came on as a substitute player and usually only played a few minutes of play. In a 3-0 away win over FC Dornbirn on March 20, 2010, his longest outing of the season at just under half an hour, he scored his first goal in professional football in the 69th minute with a margin, which was also the final score sealed in the game. In his last appearance in the professional league on April 9, 2010, he scored the only goal of the game with a 1-0 home win over FC Lustenau 07 in the 94th minute of the game after Harding -Pass with a side pull . At the end of the 2009/10 season he rose again to the upper house with the Tyroleans after their relegation in the 2007/08 season . At the end of the season, two points ahead of FC Admira Wacker Mödling were enough for a renewed promotion to the Austrian Bundesliga.

Even in the 2010/11 season , Hinterseer could not really assert itself in the professional team and only made three Bundesliga (short) appearances. The center forward made his actual BL debut exactly one month after his last professional appearance, on April 9, 2011 in a 1-0 win over SC Magna Wiener Neustadt . In the match he came on in the 90th minute for his strike colleague Julius Perstaller . Only in the last two rounds of the current season did head coach Walter Kogler trust him again and have been using him a little longer than in the past. On May 22nd, 2011, he recorded a 38-minute match against LASK Linz (1-0) when he came back on the pitch for Perstaller. Hinterseer was also used as the sole striker in the season finale against SK Sturm Graz , which made the Graz Austrian champions in 2010/11. In this encounter he recorded his first appearance in the professional team from the start, before he was replaced in the 56th minute by the Spaniard Carlos Merino González . At the same time, he completed 20 championship games in the Regionalliga West, in which he scored eight goals and was in the middle of the table with the team with one round to go.

Loans to Lustenau and Vienna

After a spring season in the second-highest division at FC Lustenau 07 , he switched to the league rivals of his loan club First Vienna FC on loan in the summer of 2012 .

Return to Wacker Innsbruck

After his return from First Vienna FC in January 2013, Hinterseer developed into a regular player in the fighting team and was able to contribute six goals (3 goals, 3 assists) in 13 games. In the 2013/14 season he finally became indispensable in the team; he is mainly used in attacking midfield and as a hanging tip. Thanks to his convincing performance, he was also appointed to the national team by Marcel Koller .

Move to Germany

The German second division club FC Ingolstadt 04 signed Hinterseer for the 2014/15 season and provided him with a contract until June 30, 2016, including an option for another year. With the winning goal to make it 1-0 in the 66th minute on August 15, 2015 (1st match day) in the away game against 1. FSV Mainz 05 , he scored his first and first Bundesliga goal for the club. After the end of the 2016/17 season and the relegation of Ingolstadt to the 2nd Bundesliga, Hinterseer's contract was not extended, so he joined VfL Bochum on a free transfer . There he made his debut in a 1-1 draw against MSV Duisburg on August 5, 2017, the 2nd matchday of the 2017/18 season. In the 5-2 win against FC Nöttingen in the first main round of the 2017/18 DFB Cup on August 13, 2017, he scored his first three competitive goals for Bochum. The offensive player's contract, which expired at the end of the second division 2018/19 season , and who scored in every second game for VfL, was not extended in spring 2019.

For the 2019/20 second division season , the striker signed a contract with Hamburger SV that was valid until June 2021 .

National team career

Hinterseer in an international match against Iceland in 2014

The successful coach Paul Gludovatz brought Hinterseer into Austria's U17 squad while he was still in Kitzbühel . With the team he took part in the Youth Toto Cup in 2007. There he was used in the various games and was able to defend the title with the Austrians at the end of the competition. In the following year, the striker was regularly brought to the U18 national team in his home country in 2008, where he was mostly only on call under Andreas Heraf and not in the official squad. Furthermore, the young Tyrolean was called up to join the Austrian U19 squad, although he was not really able to contribute as a regular.

After his steep ascent in the 2013/14 season , Marcel Koller appointed him to the national team. He made his debut in a 1-0 win against the USA on November 19, 2013.

At the European Football Championship in France in 2016 , he was included in Austria's squad. He had his only tournament appearance in the 0-0 draw against Portugal in the second game, when he was substituted on in the final minutes. After the group stage, the team was eliminated.
