Georg Harding (born August 30, 1981 in Judenburg , Austria ) is an Austrian football player who plays for the fourth division SK Treibach .
Career
Georg Harding started his career at TSV Neumarkt, where he worked until 1995. Harding then moved to the FC Carinthia youth academy . Under August Starek , the defensive midfielder made his first appearances in Austria's second-highest division at a young age . During this time, Harding also went through numerous youth national teams. After a stopover at SK Treibach, Harding moved to DSV Leoben in the summer of 2003 . There he was able to establish himself in the defensive midfield right from the start. In the period from summer 2003 to spring 2007 Harding completed 115 games for DSV Leoben in the second-rate first division and scored 4 goals. Due to his consistently good performance, Harding was able to draw attention to himself and was signed by SK Rapid Vienna in May 2007 . There he should take on a role similar to that of Didi Kühbauer earlier at Rapid. Since the two are very similar in character, the decision was made on Harding because of their age.
In 2008 he was able to celebrate the championship title with Rapid, he came to ten missions this season, including his Bundesliga debut on September 26, 2007 on the 11th match day against SV Mattersburg , when Harding came on for Markus Heikkinen . Rapid won 1-0.
At the beginning of the 2009/2010 season he moved to FC Wacker Innsbruck on a free transfer . With FC Wacker Innsbruck, Harding was in the 2009/10 season two points ahead of FC Admira Wacker Mödling champion of the second-rate Austrian first division and thus rose with the team in the Bundesliga.
Georg Harding is said to have racially insulted his opponent Leonardo Santiago in the Bundesliga match between FC Wacker Innsbruck and Red Bull Salzburg on July 24, 2011 . According to the captain of Red Bull Salzburg Eddie Gustafsson , the racist statements referred to the dark skin color of the Brazilian striker. Harding, however, vehemently denies these allegations. Eddie Gustafsson withdrew the allegations shortly afterwards and apologized to Harding.
In the summer of 2012 he moved to the first league relegated LASK Linz and was then champion of the Regionalliga Mitte in the 2012/13 season. After a year with 21 league appearances, he returned to SK Treibach.
