Kelvin Ofori (born July 27, 2001 ) is a Ghanaian soccer player who has been under contract with Fortuna Düsseldorf since August 2019 .

Career

Ofori received his football training at the Right to Dream Academy based near Akosombo in the Eastern Region . In July 2018 he and the team won the Gothia Cup youth competition .

Since July 18, 2019, Ofori took part in the training of the German Bundesliga club Fortuna Düsseldorf as a test player. He was assisted in settling in by his compatriots Bernard Tekpetey and Nana Ampomah , who had also been signed by the Düsseldorf team a short time before. On August 6, 2019, a few days after his 18th birthday and the winning goal in the test match against RSC Anderlecht , the attacking midfielder signed a three-year contract with Fortuna from Düsseldorf. Five days later, Ofori played his first competitive game for the club in the DFB Cup in a 3-1 win after extra time against FC 08 Villingen ; he was substituted on for Ampomah in the 62nd minute and scored the goal in the 102nd minute to make it 2-1.

After Ofori could not prevail in the first half of the season, he played on November 30, 2019 in a 3-0 win over Wuppertaler SV for the first time for the second team of Fortuna, who played in the Regionalliga West ; he scored the goal to make it 1-0. Ofori played his first Bundesliga game on March 8, 2020 against 1. FSV Mainz 05 (1: 1) when he came on for Valon Berisha in the 78th minute .

In the summer of 2017, Ofori was appointed by coach Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabin to the 26-man provisional squad of the Ghanaian U17 national team in preparation for the upcoming World Cup. However, he was not included in the final roster.
