Rouwen Hennings (born August 28, 1987 in Bad Oldesloe ) is a German football player . He has been with Fortuna Düsseldorf since 2016 .

Career

In his youth Hennings played for VfL Oldesloe ; from there he moved to Hamburger SV in 2001 . There he played from 2005 to 2007 with the second team in the Regionalliga Nord .

In February 2007 he played a game for the German U-21 national team against the Italian U21s .

In the 2007/08 season he was loaned to VfL Osnabrück , for which he completed his first second division game against SC Freiburg on the first match day . In the 2008/09 season Hennings was loaned to city ​​rivals FC St. Pauli . For the 2009/10 season he was taken over by FC St. Pauli with a two-year contract until 2011. After promotion to the First League for the 2010/11 season , he came on August 21, 2010 (1st matchday) in a 3-1 win in the away game against SC Freiburg also to his Bundesliga debut and scored his first Bundesliga goal in the 1: 3 defeat against Borussia Dortmund on September 25, 2010 (6th match day).

In August 2016, Hennings switched to Fortuna Düsseldorf on loan for an initial year . After the contract with Burnley was terminated, he signed a contract with Fortuna on July 7, 2017 until 2020. At the end of the season he was promoted to the First Bundesliga with Düsseldorf. There he scored his second goal in the first Bundesliga on September 26, 2018 (5th matchday) in a 2-1 home defeat against Bayer 04 Leverkusen, almost exactly eight years after his first Bundesliga goal. At the end of the season he celebrated relegation with Düsseldorf as tenth in the table, to which Hennings was able to contribute with seven goals in 29 games. In the following season he scored the final score for a 3-1 away win against FC 08 Villingen by hoe in the first round of the DFB Cup . This goal was later voted Goal of the Month August 2019.

At the end of October 2019, Hennings prematurely extended his contract in Düsseldorf.
