Nick Proschwitz (born November 28, 1986 in Weißenfels ) is a German football player . The striker is under contract with third division club Eintracht Braunschweig .
Career
youth
In his youth, Proschwitz played for 1. FC Michelau , 1. FC Lichtenfels , SV Hallstadt and SpVgg Greuther Fürth .
Starts in the second teams of the Bundesliga
In the 2004/05 season he was active for the second team of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . From 2005 to the end of 2006 he played in the second team of Hamburger SV in the Regionalliga, and from 2007 he had a contract with the Oberliga team of VfL Wolfsburg , with whom he was promoted to the Regionalliga. After the 2007/08 season , Proschwitz moved to league rivals Hannover 96 II in summer 2008 , for whom he made 33 appearances and scored ten goals.
Career in Switzerland
On July 16, 2009 he finally made his debut for FC Vaduz in Liechtenstein , who played in the 2009/10 season as relegated from the Swiss Super League in the second-highest division, the Challenge League .
At the end of May 2010, Nick Proschwitz signed a three-year contract with FC Thun . The club was in the 2009/10 Challenge League champions and rose to the Super League. Proschwitz thus competed in the highest league in a country for the first time and scored eight goals for Thun by the beginning of April 2011.
SC Paderborn 07
Before the 2011/12 season, Proschwitz first moved to FC Luzern and signed a three-year contract, but - after a coaching change in Lucerne - moved back to his home country before the start of the season and signed with the second division club SC Paderborn . He played his first league game for SC on July 17, 2011 under coach Roger Schmidt in a 2-1 away win at Hansa Rostock , scoring the winning goal in the 81st minute. In total, he came to 33 games for Paderborn in the 2011/12 season , in which he scored 17 goals, making him top scorer in the second division together with Alex Meier and Olivier Occéan .
Move to England
For the 2012/13 season he moved to the English second division club Hull City . Proschwitz signed a three-year contract with the club from Kingston upon Hull until June 30, 2015 and cost 3.3 million euros transfer fee. He made his competitive debut in the shirt of Hull in the first round of the English League Cup 2012/13 against Rotherham United on August 8, 2012. With his new club from the county of East Riding of Yorkshire , the striker only prevailed on penalties 7-6 , Proschwitz was able to transform one of them. In the league, he made his debut a week later on the 1st match day of the season against Brighton & Hove Albion before he was replaced in the 73rd minute by Corry Evans . Finally, he rose to the Premier League with Hull for the 2013/14 season . In January 2014 Proschwitz was awarded to the second division club Barnsley until the end of the season , with whom he landed on the penultimate place in the table at the end of the season.
For the 2014/15 season Proschwitz went to the second division promoted FC Brentford , where he received a one-year contract. On February 27, 2015, he moved to third division Coventry City on loan until the end of the season .
Return to Paderborn
For the 2015/16 season , Proschwitz returned to his former club SC Paderborn on a free transfer. He signed a two-year performance-related contract.
The club suspended Proschwitz on January 25, 2016 from training and games because of his behavior during a training camp in Belek, Turkey . According to the association, Proschwitz is said to have lowered his pants in the public space of the team hotel on the night of January 24th and was completely naked underneath. An alleged sexual harassment of a woman a few meters away denied this, but the statements of eyewitnesses to this incident contradict one another. In a press conference on January 25, 2016, club president Wilfried Finke stated that Proschwitz would “not wear the SC Paderborn 07 jersey again”. Finke "condemn and abhor this approach" Proschwitz 'and linked his criticism with his behavior during the entire time of the training camp.
Change to Benelux
On February 1, 2016, Proschwitz's contract was terminated. He moved to Belgium for VV St. Truiden , which was promoted to the first division for the 2015/16 season . In his first game he scored two goals. After Proschwitz had been without a club since July 1, 2017, he signed with the Dutch first division club Sparta Rotterdam in September 2017 . At the end of the season, after the relegation of Sparta, his contract was not renewed.
In Germany again
On October 19, 2018, Proschwitz signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with third division club SV Meppen after having participated in team training for several weeks . With 14 goals this season he was the most accurate goal scorer in the Emsländer.
For the 2019/20 season he remained in the 3rd division, but dissolved his contract in Meppen and signed a two-year contract with Eintracht Braunschweig . With Braunschweig, he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga at the end of the season.
