Suleiman Abdullahi (born December 10, 1996 in Kaduna ) is a Nigerian football player . The striker is on loan from the German Bundesliga club 1. FC Union Berlin to Eintracht Braunschweig .

Career

Abdullahi played for Gee Lee Academy Jos and first division club El-Kanemi Warriors in his home country before moving to Norwegian first division club Viking Stavanger in February 2015 . There he quickly developed into a regular player and scored eight goals in 27 appearances in the 2015 season .

For the 2016/17 season , Abdullahi moved to the German second division club Eintracht Braunschweig , with whom he signed a contract running until June 30, 2020 in mid-June 2016. On February 5, 2017, he scored his first goal for the new employer in a 2-1 home defeat against FC St. Pauli . In the 2017/18 season , Abdullahi was relegated to the third division with Braunschweig .

For the 2018/19 season, Abdullahi initially moved to 1. FC Union Berlin on loan . Under head coach Urs Fischer , he was used in 19 second division games and scored 2 goals. With Union he took 3rd place and was promoted to the Bundesliga in the relegation against VfB Stuttgart . For the 2019/20 season , the club finally acquired the transfer rights to Abdullahi by option and provided him with a contract until June 30, 2022. He made his debut in the top German division on August 18, 2019 (1st matchday) in the 0: 4 defeat in the home game against RB Leipzig . After he was only used in six Bundesliga games due to injury, he was awarded for one year to the second division club Eintracht Braunschweig for the 2020/21 season.
