Orhan Ademi (born October 28, 1991 in Altstätten , Canton of St. Gallen ) is a Swiss football player who is also a national of North Macedonia . He has been under contract with Eintracht Braunschweig again since summer 2019 .

Career

Ademi began his active professional career with the SCR Altach amateur team in Vorarlberg . From October 2008 he was in the squad of the Bundesliga team of the club. He made his debut in the Austrian Bundesliga on November 8, 2008 in the 5-1 away defeat against SK Rapid Wien , when he came on for Oliver Mattle in the 69th minute . After the 2008/09 season he rose with the team in the second-rate first division. In 2010 he was voted Vorarlberg's newcomer of the year .

For the 2012/13 season , Ademi von Altach moved to German second division club Eintracht Braunschweig , for whom he played his first second division on August 5, 2012 (1st matchday) - immediately after being substituted in the 68th minute - in the home game against 1. FC Köln scored. In his first year in Braunschweig he had a total of 30 appearances in the 2nd division and scored four times.

At the end of the 2012/13 season he was promoted to the Bundesliga with Eintracht Braunschweig , where he made his debut on August 18, 2013 (2nd matchday) in the 2-1 defeat in the away game against Borussia Dortmund . He scored his first Bundesliga goal on October 19, 2013 (9th matchday) in a 3-2 defeat in the home game against FC Schalke 04 with the goal to make it 1-0 in the 20th minute. Overall, he came in his first Bundesliga season on 25 missions, in which he was substituted on 17 times. In May 2014 he extended his contract prematurely until 2017. In the end, Eintracht was relegated from the Bundesliga.

In the following second division season Ademi was hardly used. In the winter of 2014/15 he was loaned to league competitor VfR Aalen until the end of the season. Ademi could not prevent the relegation of the league rival despite three goals in the last four match days.

In August 2016 he returned to Austria, where he joined SV Ried , where he received a contract valid until June 2017.

After relegation from the Bundesliga, he left Ried after the 2016/17 season. In August 2017 he returned to Germany, where he joined the third division club Würzburger Kickers , with whom he received a contract valid until June 2019. He made his debut for Kickers on August 20, 2017 against Hansa Rostock. In the following two years he played 68 third division games in which he scored 23 goals. In summer 2019 he won the Bavarian State Cup with Kickers .

For the season 2019/20 returned Ademi back to Brunswick.

National team

In October 2012, Ademi was appointed to the squad of the Swiss U21 national team for the first time on the occasion of the playoffs for the final round of the U21 European Championship 2013 against the selection of Germany , but was not used.
