Leandro Putaro (born January 7, 1997 in Göttingen ) is a German football player who also has Italian citizenship. He is under contract with Eintracht Braunschweig .

Career

society

Putaro had played for two clubs in his native Göttingen before he moved to Hannover 96 at the age of nine . In 2010 he went to the youth training center of local rivals VfL Wolfsburg , where he was used from the C-Juniors. In July 2015 he trained with the professionals for the first time. He started an apprenticeship as an office clerk at VfL Wolfsburg, but broke it off. In 2015, he took part in the Youth League with Wolfsburg's A youth team and scored five goals. VfL was the last to retire in the group stage. In February 2016, he made his Bundesliga debut in the away defeat against FC Schalke 04 when he came on for Nicklas Bendtner in the closing stages .

For the 2016/17 season Putaro switched to Arminia Bielefeld on loan to the 2nd Bundesliga for a year . For the 2017/18 season , Arminia Bielefeld finally acquired the transfer rights to Putaro and provided him with a contract that runs until June 30, 2020.

On August 17, 2018, Putaro initially moved to third division club Eintracht Braunschweig on loan until the end of the 2018/19 season . He was under the head coaches Henrik Pedersen and André Schubert in 26 league games in which he scored two goals. For the 2019/20 season , Eintracht Braunschweig acquired the transfer rights to Putaro and provided him with a contract until June 30, 2021. With the team he rose to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2020.

National team

Putaro played for the German U-16 juniors in September 2012 . In August 2013 he played three games for the U17s . In 2015 he was nominated for the first time for the U19 and made his debut in October 2015 in the game against the United States , in which he contributed one goal and two assists. On August 26, 2016 Putaro was appointed to the squad of the U-20 national team, for which he made his debut on September 6, 2016.

Personal

His uncle Michele Putaro was active in amateur football and has been a physiotherapist at VfL Wolfsburg since 2008. His father was also an amateur soccer player.
