Robin Ziegele (born March 13, 1997 in Wolfsburg ) is a German soccer player . The central defender is under contract with Eintracht Braunschweig and is a former young German national player.
Career
In the club
Ziegele was born in Wolfsburg and played at the TSG Mörse club when he was four. As an F-youth he was accepted into the youth performance center of the Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg and from then on trained there in football.
With the Wolves' A-youth team , the defender made it to the semi-finals of the championship finals in the 2014/15 season , but competitor Cottbus left the field victorious on penalties. In the following season, if he was ready to play, Ziegele was a firm candidate for the starting line-up and was even able to take part in the 2015/16 UEFA Youth League with Wolfsburg's U19s , although this ended after the group stage.
For the 2016/17 season of Regionalliga Nord , the defender came to VfL's second team under coach Rüdiger Ziehl . Although he was only able to earn a regular place there in his last season , he even celebrated the championship title with the team in spring 2019. After a 3: 1 over the Bayern champions Bayern Munich II a 1 followed: 4 in the second leg in the Bavarian capital, Munich why the ticket for the 3. Liga could draw. Two weeks earlier, Ziegele was even on the 32nd matchday in the Bundesliga squad against 1. FC Nürnberg , but was not used.
Like various other players, for example Daniel Hanslik , the performance of young Wolfsburg players during the season but also in the relegation games made other clubs aware of them. While Hanslik went to the second division Holstein Kiel , Ziegele was hired by the local Eintracht Braunschweig as the "dream player" of the Braunschweig sports director Peter Vollmann . For example, he went the same way as the brothers Nick and Yari Otto , who landed in Braunschweig via Mörse and VfL. His contract is valid until June 2021.
