Jasmin Fejzić (born May 15, 1986 in Živinice ) is a Bosnian-Herzegovinian football player who has been under contract with third division club Eintracht Braunschweig since January 2019 .
Career
Fejzić began his career at TSV Eltingen before moving to the Stuttgarter Kickers . In July 2004 he was promoted to the reserve team and made his debut a year later on June 23, 2005 against his future club SpVgg Greuther Fürth . In the Oberliga Bayern Fejzić played 34 games for the Fürth before he was loaned to Eintracht Braunschweig . With the Braunschweig team he qualified for the 3rd league in the 2008/09 season and was a regular goalkeeper in the newly created professional league.
After two years he moved back to Fürth, where he was number three in goal in the professional team and was mainly used in the regional league reserve. He also played there in the 2010/11 season and stood out as a penalty scorer in each of the last three games of the first half of the season. At the beginning of 2011, first-team goalkeeper Max Grün was seriously injured. In the first game of the second half of the season Fejzić then played his first second division game, then Alexander Walke , who was signed up, took the place between the posts and the Bosnian remained number two in the professional team. A curiosity arose in the semi-final match of the DFB Cup against the reigning German champions Borussia Dortmund on March 20, 2012 : In the 118th minute, Fejzić was substituted for Green when the score was 0-0, as a decision by penalty shoot-out was foreseeable and he should strengthen his team. Two minutes later, the BVB player İlkay Gündoğan hit the post of the Fürth goal, from which the ball hit Fejzić's back and rolled into the goal of the 1-0 victory and the Dortmund final.
In summer 2012 Fejzić signed a two-year contract with VfR Aalen , who had been promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga and was looking for another goalkeeper behind regular goalkeeper Daniel Bernhardt for the new season . In fact, he was able to prevail against Bernhardt as a regular goalkeeper from the sixth match day of the new 2012/13 season and attracted attention with good performances. In March 2013 Fejzić was therefore appointed by national coach Safet Sušić for the World Cup qualifier against Greece for the first time in the squad of the Bosnian national team. As a result, however, he lost his regular place back to Bernhardt, in this way Fejzić came to a total of 22 missions at the end of the season.
After the coach change from Ralph Hasenhüttl to Stefan Ruthenbeck , Fejzić returned to his regular position in the following 2013/14 season and played 31 games. He extended his expiring contract for another two years. For the national team he was still regularly nominated as a substitute goalkeeper behind Asmir Begović , without being used in a game. In June 2014, Jasmin Fejzić took part in the World Cup in Brazil , but the team was eliminated in the preliminary round.
On September 4, 2014 Fejzić came on as a substitute for the international match against Liechtenstein, making his debut for the Bosnian senior team.
In the following 2014/15 season , VfR Aalen was relegated from the second division and Fejzic decided to return to Braunschweig after the season . When Eintracht Fejzic played until 2018. After the descent of the BTSV in the third division, he joined the newly promoted 1. FC Magdeburg .
After only four league appearances, the goalkeeper switched to the third division last Eintracht Braunschweig for the third time during the winter transfer period of the 2018/19 season , where he signed a contract valid until 2021. After successfully staying up on the last match day of the season, he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga with Braunschweig in the following season 2019/20 .
