Career
societies
Kammerbauer began his career in his hometown with the DJK Raitenbuch. In 2007 he joined the youth team at 1. FC Nürnberg with his twin brother David . Together they went through the youth teams there. In 2016, however, only Patrick was given another contract and from then on trained with the professional team. For the second team he was used regularly; for the pros, he made his debut in the second Bundesliga on October 16, 2016, the 9th matchday of the 2016/17 season, in a 3-0 away win against Karlsruher SC when he came on for Hanno Behrens in the third minute of stoppage time . In the 1: 3 away defeat against VfB Stuttgart on matchday 14, Kammerbauer was in the starting line-up for the first time. He scored his first professional goal on matchday 19 in a 3-2 away win in Heidenheim . While his twin brother is primarily used as a left defender, Patrick Kammerbauer can be used variably on the defensive, and was therefore more likely to recommend himself for the professional team.
At the end of January 2018, he moved to the Bundesliga for SC Freiburg . There he made his Bundesliga debut on November 25, 2018 (12th matchday) in a 1-1 draw against SV Werder Bremen when he came on for Luca Waldschmidt in the 89th minute .
In January 2019, Kammerbauer was awarded to the second division Holstein Kiel for the following year and a half . In addition to the loan, Kiel had a purchase option. The midfielder returned to Breisgau in the summer of 2019; he had only completed four short assignments.
The midfielder was loaned out to third division club Eintracht Braunschweig at the beginning of September 2019 until the end of the 2019/20 season. Kammerbauer was used in 23 games in changing midfield positions and prepared a hit. After the direct promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga, his loan contract was extended by a clause for another year.
National team
Kammerbauer also went through all youth national teams from the U15 with the exception of the U18. With the German U17 he took part in the 2014 European Championship in Malta. Kammerbauer was only used in the 0-1 defeat in the game against Portugal , when he came on for Matthias Bader in the 67th minute of the game .
