The Premier League 2013/14 was the 22nd season of the Premier League and at the same time the 115th first division season in English football. It started on August 17, 2013 and ended on May 11, 2014.

On the last day of the match, Manchester City secured the championship ahead of Liverpool . Defending champions Manchester United finished 7th in their first season after longtime coach Alex Ferguson resigned .

    New introduction of goal-line technology

    At the beginning of April 2013, at a meeting with the 20 club bosses of the top division clubs , the FA decided to introduce goal-line technology in order to be able to analyze contentious goal situations in detail in the future. It was decided to install the computer-aided system Hawk-Eye in all top division stadiums, the costs of the installation are borne by the clubs and amount to several hundred thousand euros per club.
