Football League First Division 1967/68

The Football League First Division 1968/69 was the 70th season of the highest English football league . It began on August 10, 1968 and ended on May 17, 1969.

Leeds United won the first English championship in the club's history by six points ahead of Liverpool . Of the two climbers Ipswich Town and Queens Park Rangers only the club from Ipswich could hold the class; in addition to "QPR", Leicester City had to move into the Second Division . These two clubs should be replaced in the following season by the two second division promoted Crystal Palace and Derby County .

A total of 481 players were used, with Arsenal FC with 16 the fewest and Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers with 27 the most players in league games. 114 newcomers were opposed to 78 footballers who last came into play in the 1968/69 season. 37 players were able to play all of their club's 42 league games.

    The Leeds United championship team

The following table lists all the players who played in a league game for Leeds United during the 1968/69 season. It must be noted that in English football a minimum number of games is usually required in order to receive the official championship medal. Since there was uncertainty about the specific regulation before the introduction of the Premier League, all players who presumably did not receive a championship medal due to their low contribution were marked with an asterisk (*). The number of missions and the goals scored are given in brackets.
