Football League First Division 1991/92

The Premier League 1992/93 was the first season of the newly formed Premier League , which was organized by the FA , and at the same time the 94th first division season in English football. It began on August 15, 1992 and ended on May 11, 1993. Eligible to play in the new league were the 19 clubs that were able to hold the class in the preseason in the First Division , which was then the highest English football league , and the 3 promoted clubs of the Second Division . As of this season, the second highest division was now called First Division .

Manchester United won the title and became English champions for the eighth time. The newly promoted Middlesbrough FC and Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest had to relegate to the First Division . The top scorer was Teddy Sheringham from Tottenham Hotspur with 22 goals .

A total of 544 players were used, with Manchester United with 20 the fewest and Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea with 32 the most players in league games. 114 newcomers were opposed to 96 footballers who last came into play in the 1992/93 season. 20 players were able to play all 42 league games of their club.
