Darren Ferguson (born February 9, 1972 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish football coach and former football player .

biography

Darren is the son of legendary coach Alex Ferguson .

At the age of 18, his father brought him to Manchester United. During the injury-related absence of Bryan Robson , he was used 15 times in the 1992/1993 season. After 27 competitive appearances, he transferred to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 1993/94 season for the equivalent of 350,000 euros

In 1999 Ferguson was loaned to Sparta Rotterdam . In the summer of 1999 he signed in Wales with AFC Wrexham , where he stayed until the end of his footballing career. In the eight years at Wrexham, he was used in over 300 games and was also involved in the 2003 promotion to the fourth highest English league .
