Peterborough United (officially: Peterborough United Football Club ) is an English football club from Peterborough . The club plays its home games at London Road Stadium and is nicknamed The Posh ( German for  the fine ).

history

The club was founded in 1934, he played his first football league season in 1960, in which he replaced the AFC Gateshead . Already in the first season the championship in the fourth division succeeded, a success that could be repeated in 1974 after being forced to relegate in 1968 due to illegal bonus payments to players. After several promotions and relegations, the club played in the 2009/10 season again in the second highest English division, the Football League Championship , but then had to relegate straight back to Football League One . In the following year the Posh managed to rise again directly.
