← Football League First Division 1992/93
^ Premier League 1993/94
The Football League First Division 1993/94 was the second season of the Football League First Division as only the second highest English football league and 91st second division season overall. It began on August 14, 1993 and ended on May 8, 1994.
Second division champion was Crystal Palace and also the second-placed Nottingham Forest rose directly to the Premier League . In addition, Leicester City prevailed in the play-off games against the Tranmere Rovers and in the final against Derby County and thus became the third promoted team. From the Premier League in the following second division season 1994/95 the three in the table below Sheffield United , Oldham Athletic and Swindon Town took the free places. Birmingham City , Oxford United and Peterborough United had to relegate from the First Division to the third-tier Football League Second Division . Instead of the three clubs, the second division winner Reading FC and the Port Vale and play-off winners FC Burnley, who ranked behind them, took the vacant positions in the following season 1994/95 .
