The Football League Second Division 1936/37 was the 41st season of the Football League Second Division as the second highest English football league . It began on August 29, 1936 and ended on May 1, 1937.

Second division champions Leicester City and also the second-placed FC Blackpool rose to the Football League First Division . For the two promoted teams in the following second division season 1937/38, the two first division clubs Manchester United and Sheffield Wednesday ranked in the table below . Bradford City and the Doncaster Rovers had to relegate from the Second Division , with both clubs now having to compete in the North Season Football League Third Division North . Instead of the two clubs in the following season 1937/38 Third Division North Master Stockport County and from the Third Division South the winner Luton Town took the vacant positions.
