The Football League Second Division 1914/15 was the 23rd season of the Football League Second Division as the second highest English football league and the last season before the interruption caused by the First World War until 1919 April 1915.

Second division champions were Derby County and the second-placed Preston North End and Arsenal FC (formerly: "Woolwich Arsenal") rose to the Football League First Division . Since the First Division and the Second Division were expanded from 20 to 22 participating teams after the break, the three promoted teams with the first division bottom Tottenham Hotspur only faced one relegated to the Second Division. The decision to prefer Arsenal to the better placed FC Barnsley and Wolverhampton Wanderers and also to local rivals from Tottenham was controversial and was justified by the club's greater merits in a long-term comparison.

The FC Glossop had to relegate from the Second Division . In addition, Nottingham Forest and Leicester Fosse worried about staying in the class, but then received enough votes in the re-election process of the League Association to be allowed to participate again in the Second Division in the following 1919/20 season. Besides Tottenham have the following five climbers took the guests: West Ham United , FC South Shields , FC Stoke , Coventry City and Rotherham County .
