Football League First Division 1914/15

The Football League First Division 1919/20 was the 28th season of the highest English football league and the first season after the interruption caused by the First World War in 1915. It began on August 30, 1919 and ended on May 1, 1920.

West Bromwich Albion won the English championship for the first time in the club's history by nine points ahead of Burnley . All three newly promoted Derby County , Preston North End and Arsenal FC were able to hold the class; Notts County and The Wednesday were among the two relegated to the Second Division . These two clubs should be replaced in the following season by the two second division promoted Huddersfield Town and Tottenham Hotspur .

A total of 627 players were used, with West Bromwich Albion with 18 the fewest and The Wednesday with 41 the most players in league games. 333 newcomers opposed 233 footballers who last came into play in the 1919/20 season. 13 players were able to play all 42 league games in their club.

The West Bromwich Albion championship team

Team photo of West Bromwich Albion as English champions 1919/20

The following list lists all players who played in a league game for West Bromwich Albion during the 1919/20 season. It must be noted that in English football a minimum number of games is usually required in order to receive the official championship medal. Since there was uncertainty about the specific regulation before the introduction of the Premier League, all players who presumably did not receive a championship medal due to their low contribution were marked with an asterisk (*). The number of missions and the goals scored are given in brackets.
