← Football League First Division 1919/20
The Football League First Division 1920/21 was the 29th season of the highest English football league . It began on August 21, 1920 and ended on May 7, 1921.
The Burnley won with five points ahead of Manchester City for the first time in their history the English Championship. Both newly promoted Huddersfield Town and Tottenham Hotspur could hold the class; instead, Derby County and Bradford Park Avenue had to move into the Second Division . These two clubs should be replaced in the following season by the two second division promoted Cardiff City and FC Birmingham .
A total of 588 players were used, with Bradford Park Avenue, Burnley FC and Everton FC with 23 the fewest and Oldham Athletic, Derby County and Sunderland AFC with 32 the most players in league games. 202 newcomers opposed 173 footballers, who last came into play in the 1920/21 season. 12 players were able to play all 42 league games in their club.

List of goalscorers
The Burnley FC championship team
The following list lists all players who played in a league game for Burnley FC during the 1920/21 season. It must be noted that in English football a minimum number of games is usually required in order to receive the official championship medal. Since there was uncertainty about the specific regulation before the introduction of the Premier League, all players who presumably did not receive a championship medal due to their low contribution were marked with an asterisk (*). The number of missions and the goals scored are given in brackets.
Change of players during the season
Special occurrences
Joe Anderson scored five goals for Burnley FC against Aston Villa on February 5, 1921.
